How did you get started with bodybuilding?

I have always been heavily involved in competitive sport. As a child I remember being super competitive at anything I did and it was middle distance running where I excelled most. Now I race Motorbikes (road racing).

Where does your motivation come from?

I believe motivation comes from within. You either have it or you don’t. I’ve always wanted to be the best at what I put my mind to.

If you find it hard to motivate yourself then surround yourself with those that do.

What workout routine has worked best for you?

Cardio Cardio Cardio!!!! Pilates, running and skipping are also favorites of mine. I love to sweat! Any form of resistance training I use my body as resistance ie. Push-ups; dips; chin-ups etc. I do use the hip flexor machine from time to time & bar squats (great for butt toning!)

Sample Routine:

  • Monday: 30mins skipping & 1hr Pilates
  • Tuesday: 1hr run
  • Wednesday: 30min run & 1hr Pilates
  • Thursday: 30mins skipping; Dips, Push-ups (Light high rep resistance training)
  • Friday: Road Racing Practice (Motorbike)
  • Saturday: Racing (Motorbike Road racing)
  • Sunday: Racing (Motorbike Road racing)

What are your favorite forms of exercise?

Motorbike racing – You’re constantly using your whole body to move around on the bike. All stabilizing muscles get a workout. It’s physically & MENTALLY challenging. You have to be focused 100% at all times! The adrenalin rush is unbeatable! Running & Skipping. It gets my heart rate up and keeps me lean and toned.

I bulk up quite easily, and find I need to limit resistance training to keep my desired body shape.

What is your diet like?

Love my fish, chicken, and fillet steak. I usually throw these in a fresh salad. Snack on raw vegetables (green beans and carrots) raw nuts / dried fruit. Before my workout I have a strong coffee and then straight after I have a protein shake & a piece of fruit.

Exercising on such low calories has helped me stay lean year round.

What is your supplementation like?

Not supplementing much at the moment although I do go through stages as I cycle them. Max’s Hydroxy Phase in Creme Caramel is my favourite shake though.
