Is boxing REALLY a dying sport? What do you think?
Joe Calzaghe believes boxing is on the ropes, with too many champions and few real stars.
“I think boxing is a dying sport. Globally — in America for instance — you’ve got UFC, which has taken a lot off boxing, business-wise,” Calzaghe said, referring to the mixed martial arts Ultimate Fighting Championship.

"For me life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer" - Arnold
Joe Rogan OWNED that guy how dare he say he wasn’t a boxing fan im a fan of both i like MMA more since there is simply more OF it shit look at PAc Man Mayweather if Dana White or some all encompass UNIFYING (keyword) person where there to make fights then that fight would still be happening
Your saying that Ricky Hatton has no power? Your saying that Manny Pacquiao is pathetic? are you listining to your self? If it wasnt for boxing MMA wouldnt be here. The UFC replicated boxings blue print why hate the predecessor?
No problem, thanks :)
Thank you so much for that video. Great example. Mad props.
hahahahhahahaahahhaa as funny as tht is if chuck lidell took him 2 the ground i dont think muhammed ali wud noe wat 2 do
Thats got to be the dumbest comment that I have ever heard.
if mohhamad ali steped in the cage at 25 with chuck liddel chuck liddel wud turn out like osama binladins unwashed ass at the end of the fight
Boxers only have an advantage in boxing. You can take the grappling out of it and just have a kickboxing fight between a great MMA fighter and a great boxer. The MMA guy has a definitive advantage with kicks, knees, elbows, and just a bunch of shit a boxer isn’t trained to deal with. Lol just watch this video for proof.. here’s the URL..

You know, actually, there was an MMA fighter who competed in the prize ring. It was Pat Miletich. And I believe he dominated. In fact, after having done this, he said, quote, un-quote, “Honestly, it (boxing) seems very boring to me. And I was the one in the damn ring!”
all i gotta say is put ur best mma guy in with any pro boxer n tell em to stay on there feet n that mma guyll be on his ass n u can say of course but if he took him down n got him in a arm bar n all i gotta say is have u ever been in a fight n got held down or watched a street fight n had one guy hold the guy or try to lock him up…what do all of us call that guy…. a pussy… but i like watchin ground and pound though..but ill always represent boxing strikin is what its all about
As Joe Rogan says: Wow!! Watch UFC fights LIVE on your computer, for free! Head over to watchmmafree. com
@Friedyellow Actually it does.. It’s a shame you’re so close minded. I couldn’t imagine being just a boxing fan these days. MMA is just so much better (IMO of course :D ).
Well have fun watching Mayweather/Pac… oh wait never mind. Have fun watching Mayweather/Malignaggi (lol).
your a fucking gay boxing retard
Everything’s the same? Not quite. You just said the Heavyweight division is lacking, which means it’s different. And it’s not advice Dana was giving, it was a fact. They really didn’t have shit. The media hasn’t changed, the market has. Boxing isn’t the biggest combat sport in the world any more, but they just can’t cover MMA yet.
Europeans did win,in the middleweights. And I don’t think you should listen to dana white advice on boxing. He didn’t even know who was the #2 p4p in the world. He just buys the ppv’s.The klitschkos are pretty good fighters,the only thing that has changed is the media. Ali is known as the best because he was on the news the whole time.Tyson had skills but was overhyped. Everything’s the same. And yes the heavywieght division is lacking talent. We can’t win all the time.
It’s strong world wide, but not as strong in America as it once was. I’m not a huge fan, but Dana White said it best, when Americans loved boxing, Europeans didn’t win shit.
No fights are rigged, just people getting mad when their fighter loses and can’t handle the reality that maybe their guy isn’t as good as they thought.
@teddywinkle10
You spastic ..as if boxing was born after the the Rocky movies. You just prove what a retarded bunch you MMA fans are. Bruce Buffer even SOUNDS retarded!
@Jerblin
What nonsense..MMAhas nothing to do with Pankration..u liar.. unless a monkey throwing a bone in the air is related to the moon landings.You are full as much shit as Joe Rogan
@045CHINO
Well said but u r talking to simpletons here..the sort that say “Go Joe” as if he has hit the nail on the head! McDonalds crowd here..looking forward to Coleman v Couture. Sad, but we live in an all comers world.
And mma is not mixed martial arts. It’s mixed contact arts. Even dana (can’t stop saying fuck)white said it. Joe rogan needs to look at himself and see why the only people who like him are mma groupies.He talks a lot of shit for nothing. Mma isnot on boxings level. Maybe in a decade they will get better fighters,but now there’s no competion,they’re 1 dimensional only good at striking,or groundgame,only a handful of well rounded fighters.
To people who say boxing is dead,it’s actually stronger then ever I think this year is the 2nd biggest money maker in history. And we still got plenty of fights,you just have to be a REAL fan of the sport. There not gonna be laid down on your lap like mma you mainstream whores. Most people who watch mma are causal fans,while most boxing fans are hardcore fans who know there history,not just talk a lot of shit over the internet about things we don’t know about.
Boxing stinks
Joe Rogan WINS
Fights in the UFC are rigged.
With hours of observation, its damn true.
