How did you guys get started with bodybuilding?

Owen: We were both born in a small town called Kendall, England. We were always into sport as boys, so I guess you could say we were born to do this.

Lewis: We didn’t really get on with each other when we were younger, always fighting as brothers, you know? We both played for the same soccer teams over here in the UK at a high professional level.

We played different positions and were always shouting at each other during the game if one of us made a mistake or did something wrong. After finishing school, I was still playing professional soccer, but felt my passion was elsewhere in life. After my contract ended with my club, I went into personal training.

Owen: I left school and joined the Royal Marines, which is one of the best fighting forces in the world. I passed the hardest military course in the world at 17 years old.

I left the marines in 2012 after serving four years, and then became a personal trainer. We moved into fitness modelling three years ago when we did our first fitness photo shoot together. Shortly after our first shoot, “Muscle and Fitness” contacted us to see if we wanted our unique brand to shoot for them. We’ve since been featured in national newspapers, celebrity magazines, fitness websites, and more fitness magazines in the UK and around the globe.

Lewis: Building the Harrison Twin brand hasn’t been easy, but we have worked our arses off to get where we are today in this industry.

Sounds like you two grew up with a small sibling rivalry. Does that extend to the gym?

Owen: There is a bit of sibling rivalry at times, which we believe is a good thing. It helps us push each other to reach our set goals. As a twin fitness brand, we both need to look very similar; that is the brand. So we need the same training plan and the same diet throughout the year to maintain our shape and for us to look similar.

Lewis: The rivalry between us comes to surface when we train together. It’s the “I won’t let my brother beat me” mindset which has been going on since we were a young age.

I remember back in school, Owen was always the 100-meter sprinter in athletics for our school; he was believed to be the quickest boy in our year at that time. I always steered cleared of the 100 meter, and was a 400-meter runner for our school. In our last year, I wanted to compete in the 100 meter. I was sick of the 400 meter. I beat Owen in the 100 by five milliseconds, which he hated. As you can see, it’s a bit of a rivalry that’s been going on in our training since we were young teenagers, and still to this day in our weight training.

It isn’t a bad thing. It’s always good to have someone spur you on.

What do you enjoy most about being a twin in the fitness industry?

Owen: I enjoy the uniqueness of our brand a lot. I believe there is no one out there at the moment quite like us; tattooed twins with a body fat of 6% -7% is hard to come by! We’re definitely different, and we like that.

3

What do you feel makes you stand out from your twin?

Lewis: I take a more laid back approach to life, but when it comes to our bodies, my chest stands out more than his.

Owen: I believe my abs are better than his, although he’d probably disagree! I know his chest is bigger than mine; I’ll give him that one! Personality wise we are both the same and don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Do you guys follow a different nutrition or supplement plan from your brother?

Owen: No we keep everything the same. We’ve built our brand on our ‘look’ and looking the same, so we keep everything very consistent.

9

What is your diet like?

We cycle high and low carbs to keep us lean year round, and we never bulk or cut. We also follow the same diet together which we both designed ourselves. So far we have been getting pretty good results from it.

Daily Diet:

  • Meal 1: 2 Whole Eggs, 2 Egg Whites, 1 scoop Whey and 4 ounces Water
half an hour later 2 scoops Whey Protein and 4 ounces Water
  • Meal 2: 2 scoops Whey, 1 Banana and 5 ounces Coconut Milk
  • Meal 3: 7 ounces Tuna and 2 tablespoons of Low-Fat Mayonnaise
  • Meal 4: 5 ½ ounces Chicken Breast, 1 cup Kale, ½ cup Mushrooms and ½ cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes
  • Meal 5: 9 ounces Chicken Breast, 3 ½ ounces Sweet Potato and ¼ cup Green Beans consumed with 1 scoop Whey Protein and 4 ounces Water
  • Meal 6: 7 ounces Tuna, 4 Whole Grain Rice Cakes and 2 tablespoons Low-Fat Mayonnaise

When you and your twin go out to eat, do you order the same thing?

Owen: Yeah, we pretty much order the same thing. Our brand is all about looking the same, so we pretty much eat the same too! If after the main meal he gets cake, then I’m getting cake too; that’s normally how it works!

When trying to cut down do you prefer to use HIIT or just normal cardio?

Owen: We are fortunate to have good genetics and very rarely do cardio. When we do cardio, we both prefer HIIT.

What is your supplementation like?

Lewis: We are very on top of our supplementation. You have to be so consistent with this part of your plan to perfect your physique.

  • Pre Workout Stimulant
  • L-Glutamine
  • L-Carnitine
  • BCAA’s
  • Fish Oil

7

What is it like being a twin dating?

Owen: We’ve never actually double dated, so there’s no shock story where a girl has put the moves on Lewis thinking it was me. We have different tattoos so they kind of know who is who.

What do you do for fun or to relax outside of the fitness industry?

Lewis: I love to watch films and go to football and soccer games. And we both like the occasional festivals and nights out with close friends.

Favorite Quote:

Owen: “The body will go where the mind pushes it.”
Lewis: “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”
