How did you get started with bodybuilding?
About three years ago my sister was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, I learned a lot while going though it with her and realized I had to change my life. So I started eating better and joined a gym, also read a lot about bodybuilding. After six months of eating clean and hard work , I started seeing crazy results and I was hooked!! My sister’s cancer is in remission and she is doing great.
What is your training like?
Currently I am doing a heavy/light routine, On my heavy days I do 3 sets of 6 to 10 reps and rest after each set. On light days I do 3 to 4 sets of 10 to 15 reps, and superset everything. Burn baby burn
Example:
- Sunday-Heavy Legs
- Monday-Light Back, Bi’s
- Tuesday-Heavy Chest, Shoulders, Tri’s
- Wednesday-Off
- Thursday-Light Legs
- Friday-Heavy Back, Bi’s
- Saturday- Light Chest, Shoulders, Tri’s
I always try to mix things up every 3 to 4 weeks, keep the body guessing. Sometimes when I’m resting in between sets, I like to add in some jump roping, jump squats and push up’s . It keeps my heart rate up and helps burn some extra calories!! It makes for a killer workout and I like it better than doing cardio.
When trying to cut down do you prefer to use HIIT or just normal cardio?
I don’t do very much cardio, I like to aim for a high enegry workouts! But when I do legs I like to walk after, it helps with my soreness the next day. When summer is around the corner and I want to loose a few pounds, Definitely HIIT!! It works best for me and really kicks my butt.
What is your Diet like?
I eat every 2 to 3 hours, Fish, veggies, fruit, greek yogurt, nuts, natural peanut butter, natural whey, flax oil, olive oil, eggs. Once a week I might have some grains, oats, whole wheat pasta and my favorite, POPCORN!
What is your supplementation like?
- Fish oil
- Multivitamins
- Creatine (sometimes)
Plans for the future?
Never stop pushing myself and if something comes up I want to try, DO IT!! I would love to get my Personal Trainier Certification, helping others achieve their goals would be very rewarding!
