How did you get started with bodybuilding?
I began bodybuilding at age 16 through the encouragement of my brother. I was always intrigued by muscular physiques and when I went to my first bodybuilding show I was hooked and knew that was what I wanted to do. From the beginning my goal was to one day become an IFBB Pro.
Where does your motivation come from?
From the time I started bodybuilding I believed I could be a champion and I devoted 13 years of my life to obtaining that goal. I wanted to prove that I could compete at the highest level and remain drug free. To win multiple Team Universe titles and earn an IFBB Pro Card I always maintained a strong connection to my goals which kept me motivated in and out of the gym. I envisioned what I wanted to achieve and worked to make that a reality by completing all my tasks each day to the best of my abilities.
I know hard work, focus and continual execution can achieve great things.
So what is the bodybuilding training routine that you use to achieve that killer physique?
I’ve used the Max-OT (Maximum Overload Training) principles since 1998. Max-OT is based on overloading the muscles in a 4-6 rep range with low set volume and basic free weight movements.

When trying to cut down do you prefer to use HIT or just normal cardio?
My greatest condition was achieved by high intensity, short duration cardio. We call it Max-OT cardio. I keep the duration at 16 minutes and I go at high intensity.
What is your Diet like?
I feel protein is the most important nutrient and I consistently supply myself with quality protein every 2-3 hours. I also feel it is important to practice intelligent nutrient timing and selection during the vital post-workout time period. I ingest the majority of my carbohydrates within the 3 hours of post training and I choose high GI carbs at that time. The rest of the day I eat low GI carbs, mostly vegetables. I keep fat the lowest percent of my intake and get the majority of that through EFA’s = CLA 1000 and Flax Seed oil.
What is your supplementation like?
VP2 Whey Isolate by AST Sports Science is my favorite and the backbone to my nutritional plan, especially for pre and post workout supplementation. I am also a fan of meal replacement supplements to help keep consistent quality protein intake convenient. I believe Creatine and L-Glutamine are excellent, proven supplements that accelerate recovery and muscle growth.

Plans for the future?
I currently am the owner/operator of Jeff Willet’s Powerhouse Gym in Adrian, MI. I also have a line of instructional DVD’s and I continue to expand upon that library. My focus is on building my product line and providing the ultimate resource for drug-free bodybuilding information. In addition to my DVD’s I offer coaching services as well.
